Licensing of Broadcasting Services
Licensing of Print Media Services
Reviewing of films for certification
Licensing of Multi Service Operators
Enforcement of various licence terms and conditions
1. Cable Television: Television was introduced in Bhutan in the year 1999.Since then the sector has made remarkable progress in terms of infrastructure and coverage. Cable Television today, is the main source of information and entertainment to the Bhutanese people. Currently there are 49 cable operators across the country with approximately 20, 000 subscribers.
2. Broadcasting: Bhutan Broadcasting Service is currently the only National Television Service provider with 10 hours of service.
