The Legal Unit of the Bhutan InfoComm and Media Authority (BICMA) provides legal services to the Authority on a wide range of matters. Besides advising on legal issues, the Unit provides legal support in respect of BICMA's responsibilities in investigation and compliance matters, legal prosecution, settlement of disputes, drafting of agreements and legislative and administrative instruments. In particular, the following are the functions of the Legal Unit:
Legal Services
Assist the Authority in matters of law and such other issues assigned or reffered to the Legal Unit.
Review rules, regulation, guidelines and other legal instruments as directed by the head of the Agency.
Draft rules, codes and guidelines as directed or required.
Compile national and international laws, rules and regulations for reference by the agency.
Assist the Authority in arranging the services of legal consultants as and when required.
Attend workshops and seminars on legal subjects as directed or required.
