Radio
Frequency is a scarce natural resource. Therefore it needs proper management
for effective utilization of this resource.This section carries out this
responsibility in accordance with the National Radio Rules in accordance with the Bhutan
InfoComm and Media Act 2006. Further the section carries out control, planning and administration of
the Radio Frequncy Spectrum.
Radio
Frequency Assignment
The
radiofrequency assignment for all radiocommunications apparatus is done by this
section.The user of Radiocommunications apparatus is required to apply to this
section for frequency and needs to pay a frequency permit fee. Refer the table
below for frequency spectrum fee.

Radiocommunications Terms and Conditions
Radio Frequency
Tuning
The
section after assignment of frequency to the user tunes the frequency. This is
done to avoid the frequency interferences and the user only uses the
frequency(ies) assigned to him by the section. For this purpose the
section has a special frequency tuning software. A fee of Nu100.00 per
frequency is being charged for tuning.
Radio Frequency
Monitoring
The
effective utilization of the spectrum can not be achieved unless the monitoring
of the assigned frequencies is done. For this purpose, the section has a radio
monitoring station in Tsirang.The section also has a monitoring vehicle with
all the equipments fitted.
